Solve Problems with Outlook CRM Client, Part 1

Posted on February 20th, 2007 in Outlook Client by Seidl Michael |

So, after a longer break, here is a new Blog.
Here i tell you about porblems with Outlook Client, and how to solve it.

1. During Installation

You get an Error message with the following content:
28086 exitcode

This can hapen, if there was an error, during the uninstall of an old CRM Client. So one way could be to check if there is any Software installed, and unistall that software, or you open your registry and seach for “CRM$MSSQL” and delete all entries you can find.

2. Outlook shows error on startup

If Outlook show an error on startup, that says, the CRM server could not be found” check two things.

a: During Installation you enter the wrong Servername, so open the registry and got to the following key, “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSCRMClient”.
At this Key you should check the following entries.:
WebAppUrl = http://servername
ServerUrl=http://servername/MSCRMServices

b: The other reason could be, that your user save there password with internet explorer, after they change there passwords, the could not connect to the CRM Server with Internet Explorer or Outlook Client, so, go to “Saved Password” under “Users” in the “Control Panal”, and delete the Saved Password for the CRM Server, and tell your users that they shouldnt save there password in the furter time.

So, i hope this Blog is helpful for somebody, and i promise to publish more blogs in the next time.

    Hallo,
